David Manzanares, DDS
David J. Manzares, DDS, FAGD, is a general dentist. Originally from Española, NM, he comes from a dental family and is the oldest son of Dr. Robert and Nancy Manzanares (a dentist and nurse/dental assistant, respectively). He graduated from Pojoaque High School in 2001. He attended the University of New Mexico as a Regent’s Scholar for his undergraduate education, graduating cum laude with a degree in biochemistry. He then attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City for dental school, graduating in 2009.
He is very active in the American Dental Association (ADA), the New Mexico Dental Association (NMDA), and the Albuquerque District Dental Society (ADDS), serving in leadership positions in all levels of these organizations. For the past three years, he has served as Secretary-Treasurer of the NMDA, where he chairs several committees. In 2016, he completed the ADA Institute for Diversity in Leadership Program. That year, he was also elected as the Representative from the 14th ADA Trustee District to the ADA Council of Communications (representing the states of Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and his home state of New Mexico). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Dental Association Foundation, the charitable wing of the NMDA. He has introduced policies through the ADA which have helped to improve the standard of care that patients receive nationwide.
Continuing education is very important to Dr. Manzanares. He takes hundreds of hours every year to ensure that his patients receive the best care possible. In 2015, he was awarded with a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor achieved by less than 5% of all general dentists. He has studied under some of the greatest dentists of all time, such as Drs. Peter Dawson, Gordon Christensen, and Mark Piper. He is a graduate of both the Dawson Academy and the Piper Education and Research Center. He is a member of several local and national study clubs.
Dr. Manzanares has also served as the Pre-Dental Advisor at New Mexico State University, and was a faculty member at Dona Ana Community College, teaching radiology to dental hygiene students. He has been published in Dental Economics and The Journal of the New Mexico Dental Association.
In his spare time, Dr. Manzanares enjoys spending time with his family. His youngest brother, Dr. Michael Manzanares, is also a dentist. Dr. Manzanares enjoys golf, travelling, and reading, and is a devout IndyCar fan.
James D. Stewart, DDS
Dr. Stewart earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1977 from the Indiana University School of Dentistry, and has been practicing in the Bosque Farms/Peralta area for over 35 years. He is always taking continuing education to comply with license requirements, and has a particular interest in dental implants, dentures, and tooth-conserving dentistry. Dr. Stewart completed curriculum at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies and has undergone advanced implant surgical and prosthetic training. In addition, Dr. Stewart is a charter member of the Academy of Biometric Dentistry. As a dentist, Dr. Stewart pursues patient dental health through state-of-the-art conservative management.
He and his wife, Diane, have been married 37 years and have four dogs and two cats. Dr. Stewart loves to spend time in the outdoors, especially hiking. He also enjoys reading and playing the guitar, and travels whenever possible.
Donna Riordan Kerr – Owner/Manager/Registered Dental Hygienist
Donna opened Just Clean Smiles in 2011, a collaborative practice, and loves being able to own and manage a dental practice in the way she feels it should be run. She is proud to work with Dr. Manzanares, Dr. Stewart, and the rest of her team. They all work hard to keep their patients smiling. We strive to offer the best dental services to all ages and incomes so that our patients can benefit from quality dental care close to home.
Donna has over 41 years of experience in the dental field and graduated from the Ohio State University with a degree in dental hygiene in 1976. She then graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1984 with a dental hygiene degree in education.
She is married with three grown children, and has a great passion for Appaloosa horses.
Kristi – Front Desk Manager/Insurance Specialist
Kristi joined our dental team five years ago, after working as a dental assistant for over 20 years. She is our lead person, who keeps our team organized, and enjoys being able to help and educate patients. When not in the office, Kristi loves spending time with her children.
Shaliena – Registered Dental Hygienist
Shaliena joined our team in August 2012, and loves the human connection—she has become good friends with our patients over the years. Patient education and helping people feel comfortable at the office are her specialties. She earned her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from the University of New Mexico in 2006. Shaliena is newly married and is a stepmom to her 13-year-old son and three rescue dogs. She and her husband love spending time at their son’s football games and travelling as a family when they have time.
Christine – Registered Dental Hygienist
Christine joined our office in 2011 and loves working with such a competent, friendly, and family-like team. She also enjoys getting to know our patients and their families as she works meticulously to keep patients at their healthiest. Christine attended UNM for dental hygiene, where Donna was her instructor, and graduated in 1988. She loves cooking and creating all kinds of different recipes, as well as spending time with family and friends, hiking, and biking. Christine has 2 sons, ages 22 and 24, and an adorable 1-month-old grandson, who brings pure joy to her life!
Camille – Registered Dental Hygienist
Camille joined our team about a year ago. She is a 2000 graduate of the University of New Mexico’s dental hygiene program, and went on to earn a master’s degree in dental hygiene in 2015. She feels very blessed to have been asked to be part of this practice. Just Clean Smiles is an asset to Valencia County, and she is proud to be part of an office that offers state-of-the-art care with a knowledgeable and caring staff. Camille listens to her patients so that she can meet their needs and desires. This, coupled with proper patient education, helps patients achieve optimal oral health and esthetics. Camille has two children, ages 16 and 14.
Danielle – Dental Assistant
Danielle joined our team at Just Clean Smiles over 2 ½ years ago. Immediately after graduating high school in 2002, she began studying dental assisting at Pima Medical Institute and graduated in 2003. She later earned her certificate in medical billing and coding in 2010. Danielle loves being part of a dental family that works well together and shares the same goals. Working as a team makes for great success! Danielle has been married for 13 years to her high school sweetheart, and they have two beautiful children. Danielle loves being a mom and hanging out with her kids.
Jessica – Dental Assistant
Jessica has over 12 years of experience in the dental field, and joined our office about 5 ½ years ago. She loves working with her patients and being part of a team that shares her goals. Every day, she strives to stay on task and stay positive to ensure her patients receive the best possible care. Jessica attended Belen High School, Apollo College, and then the University of New Mexico. She is married and has five children. Her hobbies include reading and watching her kids perform in sports and gymnastics.
Kady – Dental Assistant
Kady has been part of our office for almost a year now. Prior, she graduated from New Mexico State University in 2011. Her patients are the most important aspect of her job, and she strives to make their experiences the best that they can be by being a team player. After all, without a team, our practice would not run smoothly. She loves to hunt, fish, and spend time with her family.
